TYPES OF YOGA
INSIDE FLOW
YOGA
This is a Vinyasa flow, following the beats of a ‘theme’ song. Initially, the flow starts with a simple sequence. Then new postures are added after a few rounds to reach the complete sequence of the session. The full sequence first is led by the instructor. When it is memorized and the practitioners are comfortable with the beat, there will be no instructions for at least 3 rounds at the end.
The fun thing is once you master the sequence, you can move by yourself. You do not need to think or wait for next cues but focus on your feelings on each move.
Each session will be with a different ‘theme’ song and the sequence is consistently based on the principle of whole-body and multi-dimensional movements.
Suitable for Intermediate level and for those who love music/creativity/body movement.
AERIAL YOGA
A type of yoga in which postures are performed with the support of a soft-material hammock.
Hammocks will be hung about 1m from the ground or can be adjusted depending on the height of the students.
For beginners to yoga, it is best to practice yoga on the mat first before moving to aerial yoga. Then, when you start aerial, you will have a basic knowledge of postures, breathing techniques and alignment. Not only is the session more understandable but also safer for yourself.
Aerial yoga is not difficult. Thanks to the hammock, the postures are more attainable than in doing yoga on a mat. Some backbending postures are easier and with less injury by doing with the support of the hammocks.
Another great point of aerial yoga is that in Savasana (the relaxing posture at the end of the session), you will be wrapped in a hammock as a cocoon, swinging gently, completely relaxing.
Aerial Yoga is not suitable for pregnant women; people with severe wrist pain syndrome and people often feel dizziness.
YIN YOGA
It is a combination of heating poses (Yang) and cooling poses (Yin). The poses in Yin yoga session will be held for a longer period of time, normally 3 - 5 minutes. And most of the poses are stretches to target the joints and fascias.
The aim of Yin yoga is to increase the flexibility of the joints and free the flow of energy throughout the body.
Suitable for all levels, especially to Beginners.
MYRING THERAPY
MY means Massage + Yoga. It is a combination of self-massage and yoga practice.
MYRing is the main prop in this style. Thanks to the MYRing, students can stretch themselves. Therefore, the tense muscles will be taken care of.
This class is suitable for everyone and at any levels, especially suitable for students with stiff bodies, because the MYRing will be a great support in poses that require flexibility.
ELEMENTAL YOGA
Elemental yoga is the combination of Hatha Yoga, Meditation, Pranayama, and Ayurveda.
The session is to bring balance to the body through the movement from stillness to motion, from slow to rapid.
In Elemental Yoga, the roles of 5 elements [Space, Air, Fire, Water, Earth] are applied in relation to each internal organ, to the endocrine system and emotions. Practitioners will understand themselves as well as understand nature, to adjust to a harmonious and peaceful lifestyle.
Suitable for all levels, especially Beginners.
IYENGAR YOGA
Iyengar is the great awareness of the precision and postural alignment. The postures are held, with support from all kinds of props to facilitate learning and adjust yoga postures to individual needs. It also emphasizes sequencing of the asanas towards a desired result.
Iyengar, in our humble opinion, is an awareness; a slower pace; a mind of patience to understand more about what you think you have known.
It is a very beneficial practice as both beginners and experienced practitioners will learn at least one new thing in every session.
KUNDALINI YOGA
Kundalini Yoga is a yoga practice that integrates:
- breathing techniques
- active movements
- static stretches
- deep relaxation
- meditation
- mudra (hand positions)
- and mantra (meditation utilizing the repetition of sound).
Kundalini Yoga gives you tools through kriyas (purposeful actions/exercises) to understand yourself and to strengthen your mind.
YOGA FOR SENIORS
A session is designed for older practitioners. The sequence in Yoga for Seniors is built up in harmony and efficiency, supported by appropriate props. This, therefore, brings the confidence and eagerness in students to explore their flexibility and strength.
Suitable for elderly people from 50 ages and above.
QIGONG
Basically, Qigong is slow-paced meditative movement and deep breathing to cultivate as well as to balance the qi energy [life energy] in the body. Practicing Qigong is a personal experience in which the connection and loyal practice will gradually come with observation; change and adjustment under the guidance of the teachers over time.
SOUND HEALING
In this one-hour session, there will be 20 minutes of gentle stretching to relax and set yourself ready. Then you will be sinking to deeper relaxation by the sounds in circular sequences while the self-healing power is also being activated. Archaic instruments in the Sound Healing session are handmade singing bowls, tingsha, wind chime.
All you have to do is lie down, close your eyes and feel the vibrations of the sounds and the amazing changes inside.
